The City of Mission is committed to fostering an inclusive, diverse, and barrier-free community, ensuring that every resident and visitor experiences equal access to our services and facilities. Accessibility is about providing everyone with the freedom and equal opportunity to engage with physical spaces, digital platforms, and essential resources without hindrance. Inclusivity means creating environments where everyone is welcomed and can fully participate, fostering a sense of belonging.

Moreover, the City embraces diversity, recognizing and appreciating the unique backgrounds, abilities, and differences of each individual. Diversity is about ensuring equal opportunities for all, enhancing creativity and innovation by valuing everyone’s accessibility needs.

Our Accessibility Plan aligns with the Accessible BC Act, underscoring principles such as inclusion, adaptability, collaboration, and universal design. Guided by these values, Mission is dedicated to working in consultation with community stakeholders, including the Accessibility, Inclusion, and Diversity Committee, to remove barriers and enhance accessibility across all areas of governance, services, and the built environment.
